Teams and League Play
Innovily Sports is looking forward to the creation of our youth team program.
Developmental Team Program
2020 (U5) - 2016 (U9) *
*see ‘player ages’ below
The Futsal Developmental Team Program (DTP) hosted by Innovily provides young players an opportunity to play futsal (an indoor version of soccer) in a team setting with experienced Innovily coaches. With an emphasis on development, teams will have time to train before each game allowing the players to try to implement the topics from the training. Scores will not be retained for any league-standing purposes. Teams will be constructed based by a player's development stage not by a player's birth-age and we’ll do our best to build teams that are competitive with each other within each bracket. For more information on development stages, please see here: Academy Training. For more information about ages, please scroll down.
The DTP is also open to outside clubs. These clubs will provide their own administration and coaches, however, their teams and coaches will be welcome (and encouraged) to join the pre-game trainings provided by Innovily. We hope these training sessions provide all the clubs with quality instruction as well as professional coaching education. Games are managed/refereed by league staff.
The yearly DTP schedule is broken into four seasons of play with an intent of eight to ten games each season. (Dependent on holidays, outside events, team availability, etc)
Dec, Jan, Feb - Winter Season
Mar, Apr, May - Spring Season
Jun, July, Aug - Summer Season
Sept, Oct, Nov - Fall Season
About: Players registering for Innovily are individual registrations only. (Outside clubs with teams should contact us to register.) If you have a request to play with another player, we are open to hearing the request but cannot guarantee we can accommodate it. Players and teams will be separated into brackets based on stages not by ages. As we follow our methodology, we believe a player’s development age is more appropriate than birth-age for development and competition purposes.
While we look forward to having your players join us for continued development through their youth ages, players are not required to participate continuously season after season. All players are welcome to join for one season and take a break for the next as families wish. When a player takes a break, we cannot guarantee a place back on their old team should they return.
Player Ages: Our brackets are not defined by birth-age, but instead by development age which are separated into stages. That said, the DTP typically supports players born from 2020 (U5) - 2016 (U9); these are the players who will often fall into our stage 1 and 2 brackets. Stage 3 & 4 players [which typically range from players 2015 (U10) - 2012 (U13)] will be registered for another league if one is in session. When you register, we will help you and your player determine your stage level. For more information on stage development, please see here: Academy Training
Game Structure: Games will be played 4v4, will have four 12-minute periods, and will feature smaller goals and no goalkeeper. Official futsal rules and gameplay may vary to provide the best developmental atmosphere for the players; however, retaining the feel of futsal is important and we intend to encourage futsal-specific rules where appropriate.
Siblings: We understand the benefit of having siblings on the same team. If we can make that work within the above parameters, we will try to do so.
Genders: Teams and brackets are coed.
Uniforms: Innovily players will be expected to purchase an Innovily uniform. (We are currently in the design phase and options to buy should open with enough time to have for the league.)
Training: Teams will have about 20 minutes of coached training time before a game to get prepared to play. Players looking for additional training may register for academy training classes here: Academy Training
Location: Games will typically be played at Element Sportsplex - 12920 Theis Ln, Tomball, TX 77375. If there is a conflict on a certain weekend and we require games to be played elsewhere, we will choose a nearby venue for that weekend only.
DTP Player Referrals: Innovily strives to make playing possible for as many families as we can. We understand youth sports are expensive and we hope to provide better opportunities for our players to participate. In that spirit we’ve created an extensive referral program.
Details: When a player registration lists a family as a direct referral, the listed family will receive a coupon for the following season. The amount of the coupon will be 10% off for every direct registration referral. Additionally, the coupon will include 5% off for every direct referral made by their directly referred families - these are labeled as indirect referrals.
For Example: If Family A refers Family B and Family B registers two players and then refers Family C who registers one player. Family A will receive a coupon for two direct referrals and one indirect referral totaling 25% off their next registration. Family B will receive a coupon for 10% off for referring Family C. Family A would not receive anything from those referred by Family C and beyond.
Ongoing: These referral discounts continue season after season so long as the referred players continue to register. This could allow a player to essentially play for free if they can maintain enough referred players. These coupons cannot be transferred to other families, however, they may be used for multiple players within a direct family if a total above 100% is reached.
Other Details: Coupons may be held for up to one season: A family playing in Winter, may hold their coupon until the following Summer. A family does not gain additional discounts if their player is not playing in a current season: Using the previous example, the family that skips Spring would not gain additional discounts during that time.
Additional Children: If a family does not list a referral source, they may use their additional registrations as a referral for themselves. In this case, if a family registered three of their own players, they would receive a coupon for the next season for 20% off a registration.
Other Clubs: Discounts are available to clubs that enter multiple teams. Please inquire about these.
We hope this referral program makes playing with us accommodating for our families, however, these terms are subject to change. If we anticipate changes in the referral program to be made, we will announce these changes.

Upper Stage Futsal League
The seasonal Upper Stage Futsal League (USFL) may be hosted each season for teams to compete in. These are not guaranteed to occur; please see below for upcoming leagues. The USFL is an invitational league where teams are entered from local futsal clubs. Individual participation requires contacting a club and being added to a team. If you have questions about contacting a local club in your area, please email us for help. If you have a futsal team and wish to enter, please contact us to discuss it. info@innovily.org
Dec, Jan, Feb - Winter Season
Mar, Apr, May - Spring Season
Jun, July, Aug - Summer Season
Sept, Oct, Nov - Fall Season
While each club handles their registrations and players differently, Innovily prioritizes club members for positions on our teams. If there are available spots open, outside players may be rostered. It is not guaranteed that there will be spots available for non-members. Additionally, teams will only be created when there are enough players to fill them.
The league supports stage 3 through stage 5 players, which is typically 2015 (U10) and older. Games feature two 24-minute halves of 5v5 with goalkeepers. Games are officiated by referees.
The first two weeks of the league feature preliminary games to best determine the rest of the schedule. No brackets are made and schedules are created based on what the league believes will be the most competitive for each team. Scores will be kept at games, however, there will not be brackets, standings, playoffs, finals, or champions crowned. The leagues are for developmental and training purposes and we do not believe scores and standings will bring the desired culture of futsal development.
